School Assembly
Today
the Year 2’s finished off their Dr Seuss month. We put all our fantastic
learning onto a power point and this got shown at School Assembly today! Check
it out:
Discovery Time
Today
MR, VH and AS class had their first Discovery time together. Our theme was -
Under the sea.
We
were focusing on trying our hardest and doing our absolute best! There were so
many fun activities. We had a ball! Check out some of the photos:
RAP-unzel
Rapunzel is the hot favourite to win ‘A Land Far Far Away’s
Got Talent With X Factor Idol’. She’s a teenage triple threat, with the voice
of Lady Gaga, the dance moves of Beyonce, and the hair of… Rapunzel!
But when she refuses to sign a contract with the 'udderly' ruthless 'moosic' producer Simon Cow, he locks her in a recording tower high above the enchanted forest to steal her singing voice with a magic tape machine. What can Rapunzel do now she can’t sing? Rap

We had such a great time and thought the show was very
funny! We all had a great laugh.
Blends:
This week we have been focusing on the blends tw & sw !
We should be able to say these sounds, recognise them in our reading and write
them in our writing.
Maths:
This week in maths we have been practising our skip counting
in fives. We are all getting super good at doing this! We must be practising lots at
home too.. We have also had a look at doubling and halving. Doubling numbers
means that it’s twice as many. We liked doing this. Some of us used counters to
help us. After that we had a go at halving. This was a lot harder than
doubling! We will be practising all of these things throughout the year.
Art:
This week we did some “Lorax” art from Dr Seuss. We made
‘truffle’ trees. First we painted the background with water colours. After that we cut long pieces of paper for our
tree trunks. Then we cut out the top of the tree and stuck it all together.
They look pretty fantastic!
Toby and I loved watching the Dr Seuss video! Awesome
