Start of the Year in MR

So far in MR....

We have had a great few weeks in MR Class. We have been getting to know each other and finding out how we do things in MR. We have been doing LOTS of fun activities to help us get to know each other.

We started off by making some Class rules so everybody feels safe and included in MR Class. Having these rules means we can concentrate when we do our work and it means we can learn lots of things!

We also read a book called “David goes to School” This book is about a naughty little boy who needs some help in the classroom. We wrote down a few things that we thought could help David from our own class rules. We looked at our whole school rules also. We thought that might help David! We also created some of our own David artwork.

As we have been getting to know each other, we have been talking about what we might like to do when we grow up. We read the story “Oh the places you’ll go” by Dr Suess. We wrote about what we want to be when we grow up. We displayed them on the wall.

Our first lot of art work was creating self-portraits. We had lots of fun doing this! Now whenever somebody walks into the classroom they can see our portraits and know that we belong in MR.

For maths we have been focussing on Statistics. We have been graphing and sorting information. It has been really cool because now we know who our teacher from last year was, we know what house colour everyone is in, and we also know who has brothers/sisters and lots more information!
